08/06/2006: "Brewblogue: Steamboy"

Listening to: nothing
Current mood: tired

Water: 7 Gallons OB Tap Water (this time due mainly to laziness)
Grain: 1 lb Crystal Malt 40L
Extract: 7 lbs Light Malt Extract
Yeast: 1 Vial White Labs 810 San Francisco Lager Yeast
Hops:

  • 1.5 oz Northern Brewer (6.5% AAU) @ 60min
  • 0.5 oz Northern Brewer @ 5min

OG was 1.058-60

Notes: Recipe called for 1 tsp Irish Moss that I totally and utter forgot about, so it might end up with some chill haze, but I don't really care all that much. OG was a bit higher than what I was aiming for. Wort tasted appropriately hoppy. With luck, it should end up being pretty much what I had in mind.

Anyway, I'm too tired now to extrapolate any further on the experience.

Yea! What a cute name for your mock anchor steam beer! Of course the movie was so terrible, so let's hope your beer turns out better that the movie.

I wouldn't say the movie was terrible... I would more say that it was just not that good. Although, like I always point out to you, that was the dubbed US theatrical (cut?) version, the original might be a bit better.

Oh, excellent point. The voices were part of the problem. The little boy's voice was so obviously done by Anna Paquin.

But your beer's voice isn't done by a girl so that shouldn't be a problem with your Steamboy.
